From humble beginnings in 1947, Dr Bill Cawker a Canadian veterinarian established Matamata Veterinary Services to provide local farmers with a private veterinary service. MVS was one of the very first private practices to be established in New Zealand and has now grown to become one of the largest private veterinary practices in the North Island.
MVS currently employs 14 veterinarians working from two sites:

362 Hinuera Road West - Equine Hospital, Semen Lab and Equine Administration
MVS has a proud tradition of excellence, service, friendliness, veterinary research and product development.
We service approximately 200 farms and 23 goat units, along with a huge amount of companion animal and equine veterinary services within 20km of Matamata.
