The GlenBred consultation room is a modern purpose built facility with central air conditioning and heating that is based at a separate site to the MVS Small Animal Clinic. This is important because the animals coming to see us are happy and healthy and we do not want them exposed to a hospital environment. It is important to have a stress free environment that is conducive to semen collections and inseminations. For this reason, we only carry out reproductive work at the GlenBred consultation room. We are very fortunate that our consultation room is located next to a state-of-the-art boarding facility, 'Big Paw', which is run by the wonderful kind and caring people Lea and Ant. This allows us to board bitches and manage their heats for clients who are located at a distance from our facility.
The GlenBred consultation room has been extended to include an on-site semen laboratory that allows us to carry out extensive semen evaluations and to freeze semen to the highest laboratory standards. This lab is in addition to our MAF approved semen laboratory located on Hinuera Road West (next to our equine facility) where our large number of long-term semen storage tanks are located and rigorously maintained by our semen laboratory manager, Victoria Weston.
