Dog Obedience/Puppy Preschool
Puppy Preschool is a fun way of educating your young puppy, focusing on socialising puppies of the same age. The optimum age for this is about 8-14 weeks of age. The aim is to reduce the chance of behavioural problems such as aggression, fearfulness, excitability and destructiveness.
As the optimum age window is very small and it is important to attend classes in the short window, we are unable to form large enough puppy classes to optimise training. We therefore suggest you to head to either Cambridge or Hamilton for classes. Please contact us if you need any further info.
These classes are conducted by Judy Bail of Tailwaggers Dog Training. During the six week course Judy will train you and your dog in the basics of obedience. The aim is to show you how to get your dog to do what you want – when you want.
The initial training session will cover the general basics, including sit, stay, come, stand, wait, heel and some social skills. The six week course (held on Monday evenings between 6-7pm) is about providing skills for you to improve the relationship with your dog.
