Welcome to MVS Small Animals. If you are calling on the phone you are likely to be
answered by Bron or Kristie. The reception desk found on the southern entrance to the
building is manned by trained Veterinary Nurses.

We keep our waiting area small as our goal is to not having you waiting at all.
There is a sheltered outside bench available for dog owners whose pets are uncomfortable indoors.
Consultation Rooms and Pharmacy
We aim to make your pet as happy as possible during your visit to us in our spacious well lit rooms.
We carry in stock the majority of medicines we use and are able to access for you
many rarely used drugs on prescription.

The Xray Machine remains one of the key tools in Veterinary Diagnostics.
MVS Small Animals has recently invested in a state-of-the-art high output xray
machine with in built grid and floating top table, and a Kodak Automatic Processor.
Pets may be sedated/anaesthetised to minimise stress and optimise xray quality as well as
staff safety.

The ultrasound scan has become an everyday tool for our diagnostic team. The Ultrasound
machine uses ultrasonic waves to image internal body structures and provides invaluable information
in a relatively non-invasive way.

We aim to provide the safest anaesthetic for our patients. We use Isoflurane gaseous anaesthetic
and have Pulse Oxymetry, Respiratory Monitors, Doppler Blood Pressure Monitoring and
ECG available. All surgical instruments are sterilized prior to use. We have a comprehensive
array of instruments to perform sterile orthopedic and soft tissue procedures.
To ensure the highest sterility is obtained, patients are surgically prepped and surgeons are gloved
and gowned in surgical attire.

The Treatment Area has recently been upgraded to provide a large clean spacious area
where nurses and vets can work together. This area is used to prepare animals for surgery
and also perform non-sterile procedures such as dentistry and in-house diagnostics.
The Hospital Area provides a warm well ventilated space where our staff can monitor
in-patients and als o patients recovering from procedures. A separate isolation facility
is used to accommodate pets that are suspected to have a contagious illness.
With the recent extension of our hospital (with extra and bigger kenneling) there are
now separate cat and dog areas allowing for a stress free and peaceful environment for
your animal.
Microscopes, centrifuges, and in-house diagnostic tests are performed in our laboratory. We perform an array of simple tests
on bloods, urine and faeces. For more complex tests, samples are couriered to a Veterinary Pathology Laboratory.
This lab provides same-day-service for most requests.
