Chris Hutchings BVSc, MACVSc

Chris graduated from Massey University in 1977 and went on to practice for 30 years in a mixed and small animal practice in NZ. For many years Chris was the Companion Animal Vet and Partner in a successful private Dairy and Small Animal Clinic based in Morrinsville. Chris was admitted by examination as a Member of the Australasian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal medicine in 1987. He joined MVS in 2003, initially on a part-time basis during the period he was President of the New Zealand Veterinary Association.

After Chris finished his term of office, he increased his clinical workload with MVS. Chris is multi-talented with skills in both Farm and Small Animal Veterinary work and now contributes to both the Farm and Small Animal teams. His Small Animal responsibility is as primary surgeon and support to the Medical team.

Chris is a very empathetic veterinarian, whose experience and manner develop strong relationships with his clients. He is very versatile with a wide range of verterinary skills. In 2000 Chris was awarded the Companion Animal Society Service Award and in 2008 he was awarded the New Zealand Veterinary Association Annual Service Award for services to the Veterinary Profession.
