Weekly Facial Eczema Spore Count Results

Weekly Facial Eczema Spore Count Results

January 28, 2022

Grass samples tested this week from the MVS Monitor Farms have shown the following:

  • Hinuera Monitor Paddocks –  0 – 5000 spores/gram
  • Matamata Monitor Paddocks – 0 spores/gram
  • Te Poi Monitor Paddocks – 0 – 1600  spores/gram
  • Tirau Monitor Paddocks – 0 – 5000  spores/gram
  • Walton Monitor Paddocks – 0 – 5000 spores/gram
  • Waharoa Monitor Paddocks –  3300 – 45000 spores/gram

As you can see the risk hasn’t changed much in the last week, however, Waharoa has continued to rise. This reflects how much variation there is in the district and the importance of testing your own farm if you have any concerns.

Spore counts vary from farm to farm so the only way to know your risk is to check your grass for spores.

It’s time to celebrate!!

April 12, 2012

We are thrilled to advise you that MVS Farm and Small Animals has been accredited by the New Zealand Veterinary Association as ‘Best Practice’.

So why all the excitement?

It is no easy task! It took us months of work and then we had to pass an intense audit, which was passed with flying colours.

So now we can say, with extreme confidence that you will continue to receive excellence in veterinary case from Matamata Veterinary Services.
