Small Animal Veterinarian 

Josh graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK in 2021. He worked in the South of England in a Small Animal hospital before moving out to New Zealand.

Josh has a special interest in surgery but enjoys all other aspects of general practice.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys hiking and exploring.

 

 


Charlie | BVMSci BSc(Hons) MRCVS

Small Animal Veterinarian

Charlie completed a degree in Bioveterinary Science before studying Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Surrey in the UK.  She worked for a few years in the South of England before moving to New Zealand and started working at MVS Small Animals in March 2023.Charlie enjoys all aspects of general practice but especially enjoys getting to know her patients and working closely with clients to achieve the best outcome for all; she also has a particular interest in opthalmology (eyes).

Outside of work Charlie loves to explore and keep active.  If she isn’t at the beach, out in the mountains hiking, cycling or taking the odd dip in alpine streams, she is usually bouldering or doing yoga (she could also be found at the pub shouting at a rugby match!).


Sarah Harper | BVSc

Small Animal Veterinarian

Sarah joined MVS in June 2017 after graduating from Massey University in 2012.

She started her career working in a busy mixed animal practice in New Plymouth then spent time traveling overseas and working as a locum in the UK.

Sarah works part-time, job sharing with Kylie.  She has a particular interest in internal medicine and enjoys working through cases to find a solution and helping sick pets recover to their normal selves.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys netball and is kept busy helping her dairy farming husband.

 

 


Kylie Dudley | BVSc

Small Animal Veterinarian 

Kylie joined the MVS in early 2017 as one of our companion animal veterinarians.  She graduated from Massey university in 2010 and moved to Australia where she worked for 3 years as a vet.  After Australia, she moved to Canada and worked as an emergency clinician in a large 24 hour veterinary hospital.

Kylie has special interests in feline internal medicine, ophthalmology (the study of eyes) and dermatology.

Outside of work, Kylie enjoys spending time with her two sons, hiking, mountain biking and regular yoga practice.

Susan leads the MVS Small Animal team and is driven to ensure excellent veterinary care is provided, in a friendly supportive environment.

Susan enjoys forming relationships with clients and their pets, to optimise pet health and well-being.  She enjoys a diagnostic challenge and gets pleasure out of seeing sick animals return to their former selves.  Susan is an accredited PennHIP radiographer and is motivated to educate and help clients in the areas of inherited diseases including hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia.

Susan joined the MVS team in 2010 when her family, husband and 2 children, moved to the district.  She began her career in mixed animal practice, has practiced abroad in the UK, and for the last 14 years has been a solely small animal practitioner.

When not working or looking after the family, Susan enjoys cycling, swimming and the outdoors.
