Latest Facial Eczema Results

April 17, 2020

Grass samples tested this week from the MVS Monitor Farms have shown the following:

  • Hinuera Monitor Paddocks – 15,000 spores/gram
  • Matamata Monitor Paddocks – 8,000 spores/gram
  • Te Poi Monitor Paddocks –  3,000 spores/gram
  • Tirau Monitor Paddocks – 10,000  spores/gram
  • Walton Monitor Paddocks – 10,000  spores/grams

Spore counts on all monitor farms have trended down this last week.

Whilst it has cooled down it is likely that ground temperatures in areas have not been consistently low enough to completely inhibit spore multiplication.

Continue to maintain your Facial Eczema prevention program unless you have assessed your own risk level on farm.

We are continuing to provide a spore counting service through this lockdown period. We have designated drop off bins at the clinic should you bring in any grass for processing.
We ask that if you plan on bringing grass in please call the clinic before you do so for further instructions.
