Congratulations vet nurses

March 1, 2016

Last year the NZVNA began to take steps towards full regulation of their profession with the establishment of a regulatory committee known as the Veterinary Nursing Council of New Zealand (VNCNZ).

At the NZVNA conference last August, the VNCNZ announced the implementation of a voluntary register, commencing from 1 January 2016. The register sets requirements relating to qualifications, continuing professional development and clinical currency. This register has taken several years to come to fruition and is a way of recognising those nurses that have gone through specialised training to gain their qualifications.

We would like to proudly announce that all of our small animal nurse have reached the requirements and are accredited.

This is a great achievement given that there are only currently approximately 160 registered and 160 listed veterinary nurses in NZ and we have 4 of them!
