Significant spore counts on some monitor farms this week

Grass samples tested this week from the MVS Monitor Farms have shown the following:

• Hinuera Monitor Farm – 53,300 spores/gram
• Matamata Monitor Farm – 73,000 spores/gram
• Te Poi Monitor Farm – 3300  spores/gram
• Tirau Monitor Farm-  288,300 spores/gram
• Walton Monitor Farm – 5000 spores/gram

There has been some significant movement in spore count levels this week.  This is a classic example of why it is important to know what is happening on your farm.

In what has so far been a mild season for Facial Eczema, we have still got one monitor farm that has yet to have significant spore counts.

If you don’t know what the situation is on your farm you need to be supplementing with zinc NOW!
