Spore counts continue to be very high

Spore count results for grass samples brought into the clinic for testing this week are as follows:

• Hinuera East – 100,000 (high) on 29.2.2016
• Hinuera West – 325,000 (high) on 3.3.2016
• Matamata – 825,000 (high) on 3.3.2016
• Puketutu – 10,000, 75,000 and 100,000 (high) on 4.3.2016
• Te Poi – 85,000 (high) on 3.3.2016
• Turanga-o-moana – 445,000 (high) on 4.3.2016

We are continuing to see very high spore counts. Ensure your treatment plans are up to date and working. If using water treatment, it is advisable to use flavour enhancers such as green apple or aniseed flavouring to ensure cows drink adequate water to get adequate zinc and to avoid heat stress.
